Build up to criterion I

My plan is to create a website that allows students to record their data from their CAS hours. The website also needs to be supervised by Mr. Herinkx. It would be preferable that students would only be able to alter their own part. How could I do this? I was thinking of a skyward type website.

Criteria H

Two possible solutions for solving the issue introduced in criteria G are a spreadsheet and a website. The advantages of having a spreadsheet include its accessibility to everyone, the simplicity of use, and its relative speed. Disadvantages to having a spreadsheet include the time necessary for use, amount of resources needed, and inability to access over breaks. The advantages of having a website include its quick access from anywhere with an internetconnection, ability for students and parents to monitor progress, and possibility for long term use. Disadvantages for a website include its necessity to have an internet connection, possibility for a lower understanding of how to use the website, and demands more work now. I surveyed  I.B. candidates on which solution they think would help them the most. An overwhelming percentage thought that a website would help them the most because they could use it on their own time meaning they had a better chance of actually using it. I have decided to do what the survey suggested even though it will be more work. I based my decision off of the survey and also the idea that the website I will make will be used in the future. I wont be making a project to be thrown away it will be used continuelly by student every year.

This frontline documentary on technology has opened my eyes to a verity of advantages  and disadvantages of technology. Disadvantages include how addicting it can be, how distracting it can be, and how it effects the brain. For me the addiction section of this documentary really hit home because I love to play video games and I’m worried it could become a problem.

How to Find the Best Solution for My Problem

February 8, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

To find the best solution that would help the most amount of end users, I will use a oral survey to question my peers. For this survey I will make questions that I ask to at least 20 students writing down their responses.  I will offer end products for their analysis, then ask them what could be changed to improve the product based on their own perspective. They are well qualified for this survey because they will be the ones using the end product, therefore they are the best ones to ask what they want to see in the product.

CSS Tutorial

Today I used Boxes Tutorial at The Noodle Incident to re-design my web page. I took the CSS Formula for a centrally focused website, I thought this would fit well with my future web site. I had to do some changes to my original script to allow it to work correctly. I learned about how the CSS scripts work and where they get their information from.
